Greetings Turtletarians!

Here is Episode 263 of our Podcast Turtle Soup! This was live streamed on Thursday 8/26/2021 at 8pm EST. On this episode we review the 1987 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Animated Series Season 10 Episode 3 – “The Power of Three.” We also have some news in the way of April O’Neil herself as a playable character in the upcoming beat em up video game, Shredder’s Revenge!

This episode of the Animated Series, ushers in the return of the original antagonists of the show Shredder and Krang, when Dregg hear’s tale of two villains from Dimension X who tangled with the Turtles from Mung and decides to use their transporter to bring them back to Earth and assist in their scheme’s against the TMNT. However, Shredder and Krang do not play well with others who think they are on their level or above.

Carter finally decides to accept the cure for his mutation and then takes off presumably back to college.

April finds herself at a new job or at the very least with a paycheck from a different news outlet than Channel 6. She gets stuck in traffic only to find herself unwillingly the chauffeur for Shredder and Krang who are in the process of fleeing Mung who is pursuing them from a ship above as they violently rejected Dregg’s alliance offer.

The Turtles home gets flooded as a result of the power it took Mung and Dregg to bring Shredder and Krang from Dimension X that basically blacked out the city and effected the sewage system as well. They eventually find Splinter and then immediately gets the distress call from April. They eventually catch up to April, Shredder and Krang still running from Mung.

High speed car chase / car rooftop ninja action ensues.

Eventually, our heroes and villains find themselves transported to Dregg. Fighting continues and this results in Dregg getting the upper hand and puts April in an electrified cage while the TMNT are placed in some sort of cryochamber and declared his intentions with the captured Turtles and their now mutual antagonist Shredder and Krang.

Come hang out and join our discussions on the episode and other stuff like:

  • Were you happy to see Krang and Shredder back?
  • Why were the TMNT scared of water?
  • Do you ship Shredder and Krang like we do?
  • How creepy is too creepy for touchy uncles?
  • Do you prefer Dregg and Mung over Shredder and Krang?
  • Are the TMNT better off with or without Carter?
  • Is this the first time we’ve seen a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, whistle?
  • Do Ninja Turtles dream of Ninja Sheep?

Greetings Turtletarians!

On this 262nd episode of the Turtle Soup Podcast, we review the 1987 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Animated Series – Season 10 – Episode 2 “The Beginning of the End” from Sept 21st 1996.

This episode finds the TMNT still dealing with Leonardo’s “hyper mutation” brought on by Dregg’s Microbots disrupting the power to the lair during an attempted cure for their unstable mutations from episode 1 of this season. Donny tries yet again to cure Leo of his hyper mutation and appears to be successful however Leo starts to feel sick again and the other Turtles (namely Raphael), are ruthless in their needless bullying of him. Carter is still lamenting that he is still uncured of his mutation as well.

All the while, the baddies are continuing their schemes to further mutate the turtles out of existence. In order to accomplish this Dregg needs some materials that they don’t have at the moment so Mung suggests Plutonium as an alternative. We see hyper mutated Leo hit the streets again and this time destroys a hockey arena.

We also get to witness more of April’s apathetic attitude toward doing any TMNT related stories for the news anymore. On top of that, we get to see her fawn of the wonders of the internet and its glorious ability to allow her to research stories. Stories about carjackings and how to determine who, what, when, where, and why the next one will take place. Dregg gets the Plutonium. April hides in a car that gets stolen, in an attempt to get into a chop shop (an attempt that is successful, surprisingly).

Dregg shows up at the chop shop and uses the microbots to transform it into a… science base? Leo is potentially “cured” but quickly is informed that he’s nuclear!

  • Can the Turtles prevent Leo from exploding and taking a chunk of New York with him?
  • Will this be the Turtle story that breaks April’s back?
  • Why is there a room full of animals in cages and 1 loose gorilla?
  • Will we see “Otto Wrecker” ever again?
  • Will Carter walk away and go to college this time?
  • Is breaking into a facility to steal plutonium as easy as cartoons make it seem?

Greetings Turtletarians!

This is Episode 261 of our Podcast Turtle Soup, that was live streamed on Thursday 8/12/2021 at 8pm EST.

And so begins our journey’s steps toward the bitter sweet “beginning of the end” part of our trek through the entire history of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, as we start our review of the 1987 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Animated Series, Season 10, Episode 1 “The Return of Dregg!”

We last left our heroes still appearing on CBS and in what is referred to as the “Red Skys” of New York City. They have finally locked Krang, Shredder, Bebop and Rocksteady and the rest of the Foot Clan in Dimension X, dealt with the mutant cult H.A.V.O.K. and its leader Titanus, quickly dismissed the lackluster threat of Doomquest while simultaneously disgracing the would be alien dictator Lord Dregg and sent him packing.

If that wasn’t enough, the turtles have to deal with their unstable mutations manifesting themselves at the worst times, as well as having to search for a remedy to them. Helping the turtles is their new friend Carter, who has joined the team in hopes of training under Splinter’s tutelage (or so he claims.). April O’Neil, is still around but is very much different from how we remember her from the seasons leading up to the “red skys.”

Now, in season 10, we find the Turtles and Carter on the precipice of a cure to their unstable mutations. However, while they’ve been making headway toward a remedy, Lord Dregg has made his way back to Earth. This time he has banished his second in command, The Hi-Tech to a mission out in space, and replaced him with a new character named Mung. Along with Mung comes new henchmen that look sort of like a variation of some red para demons. In this episode, all the turtles besides Leo, get their mutations seemingly cured. While Leo’s mutation evolves into more of a monstrous form. Carter feels like he’s to blame for this and attempts to walk away from the turtles and splinter and contemplates going to college lol.

There are microbots that are the creation of Mung that can replicate themselves and in mass, they can disassemble material objection and reassemble them however they are directed. There’s also a crystal that can be replicated from just a shard of it to make an exact copy of it and its properties as well.

Come hang out and join our discussions on the episode and other stuff like: Would you choose Mung over Hi-Teck, like Dregg did or nah?

  • How does the TMNT’s virtual reality tests work?
  • Did you like Mikey and Leo’s further mutations?
  • Have you warmed up to Carter or really hope he goes away to college?
  • Have you enjoyed the red skies seasons of the animated series or do you prefer blue skies?
  • Were you disappointed to see Dregg return, especially after the end of Season 9?
